Description
The reverse osmosis membrane separation process as a far-reaching effect desalination of water. Aqueous solutions have an osmotic pressure, which depends on the concentration of dissolved substances. In normal well water quality, the osmotic pressure is less than 1 bar, bar at sea approximately 20 minutes.
Suitable reverse osmosis membranes are permeable to the solvent water, but not for the dissolved constituents. By applying an external pressure, the amount must exceed the osmotic pressure, is achieved through the membrane separation of water (permeate) and dissolved substances, which are thus concentrated) (concentrate. The purity of the permeate and the permeability is determined by the quality of the membrane. The permeate is dependent on the pump pressure and the type of modules that contain the membranes.
In the concentrate increases the osmotic pressure and the increasing tendency to form deposits. Therefore, the concentrate is continuously derived, with the amount of concentrate must be minimized for economic reasons. The membranes are sensitive to any kind of deposits at the interface. To keep the permeate permanently stable, is therefore a fine filtration and conditioning or softening of raw water required. The selection of the best treatment is under economic considerations.
Dissolved salts are retained largely unselective. Using premium composite membranes allow a Salzrückhaltevermögen 98 to 99.5%, depending on membrane selection. Different quality requirements determine the selection of membranes. GEWA Standard equipment includes winding modules in CSF pressure vessels that meet the chemical, mechanical and hygienic highest standards. For freshwater and brackish water applications, the operating pressure is always less than 16 bar, so that the piping in corrosion resistant plastic (either PVC or PP) is done. Seawater desalination plants are manufactured in marine grade stainless steel.
The control and monitoring of the operation, quality, and flushing function accepts a programmable microprocessor control over the key pad with permanent storage of operational data in the EEPROM. From a capacity of 250 l / h air-powered Kunststoffmenbranventile be used. GEWA - Reverse osmosis systems are ready for connection, concise and easy to use konstuktion mounted on a powder-coated steel frame.
